Kinder Morgan Unveils Plan for DeKalb County Pipeline Project

Kinder Morgan has announced plans to install an 11-mile natural gas pipeline in DeKalb County, Tennessee, near Alexandria and Liberty. The project is part of a larger initiative called the Southeast Connector, which aims to connect existing pipeline systems and provide access to natural gas for underserved areas.

According to Allen Fore, Vice President of Kinder Morgan, the proposed pipeline will traverse 10 counties in Tennessee, including DeKalb County, where it may affect up to 50 landowners. The project is expected to go into service by 2029 and will require a two-year construction process pending further environmental studies and property easement acquisition.

Kinder Morgan plans to begin contacting affected landowners next week to discuss survey and easement rights. Fore explained that the company will offer $500 to access each property, with negotiations taking place separately for every parcel due to their unique characteristics.
