Kinetics Expands FSRU Fleet with Arctic Voyager Conversion
Kinetics is expanding its fleet of floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) by converting an LNG carrier into a high-specification, utility-scale FSRU. The vessel, Arctic Voyager, will be renamed LNGT Akdeniz after the conversion.
The new unit will have a storage capacity of approximately 143,000 cubic meters (cbm) and a regasification flow rate of 650 million standard cubic feet per day (scfd). It is expected to operate for at least 20 years. The conversion follows months of construction on the first in Kinetics' series of planned next-generation FSRUs.
Mehmet Katmer, General Manager of Kinetics, emphasized the growing demand for adaptable energy solutions and the need for robust regasification infrastructure. He noted that the new unit will supplement the current fleet of Karpowership affiliate, delivering utility-scale regasification capacity alongside versatility in accommodating a wide range of project configurations.
