Kinew's Pipeline Support Puts Interprovincial Co-operation Front and Center

Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew has expressed support for a proposed Northern Shield oil pipeline, which would connect Alberta's oil to Ontario refineries. The 3,300-km pipeline would carry 500,000 barrels of oil per day from Hardisty, Alberta, to Sarnia, Ontario.

The Northern Shield Pipeline would stay within Canada's borders, unlike Enbridge's Line 5, which passes through Michigan. This is seen as a significant advantage, given the potential disruptions caused by external factors like Donald Trump or a Michigan governor.
