KMI Accelerates Southeast Pipeline Buildout Amid Growing Demand

Kinder Morgan (KMI) is accelerating its natural gas pipeline buildout in the southeastern United States. The company aims to meet growing power sector demand, which has driven up regional basis premiums.

The FERC has already greenlit construction of the MSX project, and an open season for the pipeline was launched recently. This move is expected to strengthen supply in the region, where natural gas often trades at a premium compared to the Henry Hub benchmark.
