Korea Pours Billions into US Energy Projects
Korea's $200 billion investment in the United States marks a significant step towards energy dominance for America, according to President Donald Trump.
The Republic of Korea has committed to funding several projects under the U.S.-Korea Trade and Investment Initiative, including an $54 billion AK LNG pipeline project in Alaska.
The pipeline will connect North Slope gas fields to a liquefied natural gas export terminal in southern Alaska, decreasing energy costs for Alaskan residents and creating nearly 12,000 construction jobs and 1,000 operational jobs.
Trump emphasized that the project will put the United States at a level comparable to no other country, with an estimated 4 billion cubic feet of liquefied natural gas per day. The U.S. is already the largest natural gas producer and exporter in the world.
