Kreiss-Tomkins Campaigns on Vote Against SB 21 Oil Tax Overhaul

Kreiss-Tomkins proudly campaigns on his 2013 vote against Alaska's oil tax overhaul, Senate Bill 21. He believes the state should re-examine how much it collects from oil production.

When asked about his vote in a summer interview before the primary, Kreiss-Tomkins stated: 'I'm very proud of that vote, and I think it's clear from the diminished oil and gas revenue that Alaska gets that we're sort of due to revisit the tax system.'

Kreiss-Tomkins is running for governor as a Democrat in November. He argues that the current $8 per-barrel credit under SB 21 is 'very overly generous' and should be revised.
