KRG Increases Fuel Supplies Amid Worsening Petrol Crisis in Kurdistan Region

The Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) Ministry of Natural Resources has taken steps to address the fuel crisis in the region by increasing petroleum supplies to gas stations. The ministry held a meeting on Thursday to discuss the issue and agreed on final mechanisms to resolve it.

The first convoy of fuel supplies has already arrived in Erbil, Duhok, Zakho, and Soran provinces, with more expected to follow. The ministry's decree aims to maintain the price of normal petrol at 750 dinars per liter and ensure that energy suppliers meet quality control guidelines.

In addition to addressing the fuel crisis, the KRG has also ordered the Khor Mor gas field to increase natural gas supplies to power plants to facilitate a greater supply of electricity. This move is part of a broader effort to address electricity shortages in the region.
