KRG Slams Unilateral Gas Supplies from Khor Mor Field
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has expressed disappointment over the unilateral decision of Crescent Petroleum and Dana Gas to begin supplying natural gas from the Khor Mor field to Iraq's Ministry of Electricity without its approval.
In a statement, the KRG said it was informed by the joint operators on Tuesday that gas deliveries had commenced, but only after the companies publicly announced the initiative. The regional government emphasized that it had consistently supported efforts to strengthen energy security for both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
The KRG stressed that any arrangements must comply with contractual agreements and receive its approval as the contracting authority. It noted that the operators' decision to begin gas supplies without prior authorization violated the contractual framework governing the Khor Mor project.
