Ksi Lisims LNG has secured a long-term supply agreement with German utility Securing Energy for Europe (SEFE). The binding sale and purchase agreement commits SEFE to purchasing one million tonnes of liquefied natural gas annually for 20 years, with deliveries expected to start in the early 2030s. The two companies initially signed a heads of agreement in May 2026.
The project, located on the north coast of British Columbia near the Alaska border, has now locked in contracts for seven of its 12-million tonne per year capacity. Two additional deals are in the preliminary stages. The $10-billion project is led by Houston-based Western LNG, in partnership with Rockies LNG and the Nisga’a Nation, whose lands host the development.
Ksi Lisims has received regulatory approval and aims to make a final investment decision this year. The project represents a significant step in securing long-term energy supply agreements amid global energy transitions.
