Ksi Lisims LNG Secures Third International Offtake Deal with Santos
Ksi Lisims LNG has signed its third international offtake agreement with Santos, an Australian energy company. The deal will see Santos purchase 1 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Ksi Lisims for a term of 20 years.
The agreement is part of Canada's efforts to diversify its natural gas exports and reduce reliance on the US market. According to Natural Resources Canada, agreements like this one will enable the country to increase non-US LNG exports from less than 0.01 percent in 2024 to an estimated 55 percent by the early- to mid-2030s.
Ksi Lisims LNG is a proposed floating natural-gas-liquefaction production, storage and offloading facility located on the north coast of British Columbia. It will be Canada's second-largest LNG terminal, with exports of up to 12 million tonnes per annum of LNG.
