LA County Gas Prices Rise for Third Consecutive Day Amid Middle East Uncertainty
The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County has seen its third consecutive slight increase, rising by half a cent to $5.653 per gallon.
This brings the total increase over the past three days to 1.1 cents, with Thursday's rise being two-tenths of a cent. The average price is now three-tenths of a cent higher than one week ago and 8.9 cents more than one month ago.
Since the joint US-Israel attack on Iran on February 28th, which sent oil prices soaring, the average price has risen by 95.9 cents in Los Angeles County. The Orange County average price has also increased for the third consecutive day, rising four-tenths of a cent to $5.596 per gallon.
Kandace Redd, senior public affairs specialist at the Automobile Club of Southern California, notes that crude oil prices are approaching the $90 per barrel range due to ongoing uncertainty in the Middle East.
