Lallemand and Braskem Unveil Bio-Acetone Platform for Ethanol Producers

Lallemand Biofuels & Distilled Spirits and Braskem have partnered to introduce a bio-acetone production platform for the U.S. corn ethanol industry.

The platform combines Lallemand's proprietary fermentation technology with Braskem's specialized bio-acetone separation process, allowing ethanol producers to manufacture renewable bio-acetone as a valuable coproduct alongside ethanol.

After five years of research and testing, the companies have commercialized the technology, which enables ethanol facilities to adopt it without major modifications to their existing operations.
