Las Vegas Gas Prices Hit Four-Year High Amid Global Oil Turmoil

Las Vegas gas prices are on the rise again, reaching an average of $4.72 per gallon for regular unleaded in Southern Nevada as of last Friday.

This is a 14-cent increase from the previous week and a dollar more than the same date in 2025 when the average price was $3.72, according to AAA data.

The price fluctuations are attributed to multiple geopolitical factors overseas, including conflicts between the US and Iran, Houthi attacks on Russian crude oil ships, and Ukraine's attacks on Russian oil refineries.

'Oil prices are down today, but they're still up quite a bit from last week,' said Patrick De Haan, lead petroleum analyst with GasBuddy. 'Today's drop has to do with Pakistan trying to get the US and Iran back to the same table.'

The recent surge in oil prices has led to an increase in retail fuel prices, with Brent crude oil hitting a six-week high of $100 per barrel on Thursday before decreasing to $96.51 on Friday.
