Libya Restores Majid Field Production Amid Industry Challenges

Libya's Arabian Gulf Oil Company has restored production at the Majid field after a nine-year hiatus. The EE1HR-80 well, which was shut down due to a lack of resources, is now producing at a rate of 5,322 barrels per day.

The return to output comes as Libya struggles with repeated shutdowns in oil production, primarily caused by political and technical issues since the 2011 uprising that toppled Muammar Gaddafi. Oil production accounts for approximately 90% of Libya's economy.
