Libyan Oil Production Resumes After Brief Protest by Security Personnel
The Libyan oil industry has overcome a recent challenge after security personnel lifted their protest and allowed production to return to normal. The National Oil Corporation (NOC) Chairman, Massoud Suleman, confirmed that operations had resumed at three key oilfields following the brief disruption.
The protest was initiated by the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG), which is responsible for securing Libya's oil facilities. The PFG temporarily shut down the Hamada-Zawiya pipeline and halted production at the Hamada, Tahara, and NC5 fields by closing a valve on the main pipeline.
The shutdown impacted the nation's vital oil production, but the NOC has announced that operations have been restored to normal. The PFG is now planning to negotiate its demands with the NOC in Tripoli, calling for the agency's financial and administrative restructuring under the NOC.
