Libya's Waha Oil Restores Well with Boost to Daily Output
The Waha Oil Company has successfully restored one of its wells to operational readiness after an eight-year period of inactivity. The well, Q27-71, was shut down due to a faulty Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) downhole, which led to the loss of significant equipment and materials.
The company's Drilling and Well Maintenance Department worked tirelessly to retrieve the trapped equipment using specialized work plans and precise engineering solutions. The team faced numerous technical challenges but ultimately succeeded in retrieving all necessary components, including the ESP unit.
The rehabilitation efforts have added 480 barrels of oil per day to the well's production, boosting output and supporting the company's sustainability goals. This achievement reflects the competence of Waha Oil Company's workforce and their ability to execute complex operations.
