Lithuania Signs 10-Year LNG Supply Deal with EQT Corp. Subsidiary
Lithuania's state energy company Ignitis has signed a 10-year LNG supply deal with EQT Corp.'s subsidiary to serve residential consumers from 2027. The agreement covers the period of 2027-2036 and commits Ignitis to purchasing 10 LNG cargoes, one cargo of roughly 3.412 million MMBtu (approx. 3.41 billion cubic feet) per year.
The deal was awarded through a competitive tender that Ignitis launched on August 25, 2026. The company selected EQT's subsidiary as the best offer received among multiple competitors. Under the terms of the agreement, Ignitis will have a committed cargo schedule to plan around, simplifying logistics and budgeting at the household supply level.
The deal is designed to diversify Lithuania's gas supply and provide residential consumers with more stable pricing over the long term. Regulatory changes at NERC made this kind of long-term contracting possible in the first place.
