LNG Canada Advances with $14B Phase 2 Expansion in Kitimat, BC

LNG Canada has announced that it will proceed with its Phase 2 expansion project at its liquefied natural gas export terminal in Kitimat, B.C. The expansion aims to double LNG Canada's capacity to 28 million tonnes per year.

The project is one of the five initial projects referred to Ottawa's major projects office last year and will create thousands of jobs according to CEO Chris Cooper.

The Phase 2 expansion will build on the existing infrastructure from the first phase, adding two additional LNG processing units, known as trains, as well as an additional LNG storage tank, condensate tank, loading berth, expanded utility and process systems.
