LNG Canada Expansion Adds 2 Bcf/d Demand, Boosts Canadian Gas Producers

Western Canadian natural gas producers received a boost on Tuesday after Shell announced it had sanctioned the second phase of LNG Canada.

The expansion, known as Westcoast Station 2, is expected to add 2 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of new demand for natural gas in the region.

This increase will double LNG Canada's capacity to 28 million tons per year and support Shell's target of an early 2030s startup date.
