LNG Prices Hold Steady Amidst Hormuz Tensions
Spot LNG prices in Northeast Asia remained stable at $21 per million Btu for deliveries four to eight weeks ahead, according to Energy Intelligence assessments. This stability was observed despite ongoing uncertainty surrounding the situation at the Strait of Hormuz.
The spot LNG prices in Southwest Europe increased by 35 cents week on week to $20.65/MMBtu. The price hike comes amidst rising tensions and potential disruptions in global energy trade, particularly at one of the world's most critical chokepoints for oil and gas shipments.
