Locus FS Triples Blending Capacity in Permian Basin Expansion
Locus Fermentation Solutions (Locus FS) has significantly expanded its presence in the Permian Basin by acquiring a new production facility in Midland, Texas. The move triples the company's blending capacity and doubles storage capacity, enabling it to hold more finished products and improve inventory management.
The newly acquired site will initially provide approximately three times the blending capacity of Locus FS’s existing Midland operation, with room for future bulk storage tanks. This expansion positions Locus FS to accommodate rising customer demand in one of the United States’ most important oil-producing regions.
Locus Bio-Energy develops biosurfactant-based oilfield chemistries designed to improve fluid behavior and enhance hydrocarbon recovery. Recent controlled field results in the Delaware Basin demonstrated the commercial potential of its SUSTAIN biosurfactant technology, with approximately 20% higher cumulative oil production and more than 15% estimated ultimate recovery expansion during a 12-month trial.
