London Markets Rise Led by Mining Stocks Amid Copper Price Surge

London's stock market opened higher on Tuesday, led by gains in mining and defense stocks.

The FTSE 100 index rose 0.5% to 10,907.22, while the FTSE 250 was up 0.5% at 24,349.72.

Copper prices climbed to their highest level in two months, nearing $14,000 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

The upward momentum in mining stocks helped boost the FTSE 100 index, with Antofagasta leading the gains at 3.2%, followed by Anglo American, Glencore, and Rio Tinto.
