Loonie Slips Amid Global Market Volatility
The Canadian dollar finished its week on a low note, losing ground against the US dollar. The loonie fell to US$0.7070 or US$1=C$1.4145 on Friday, compared to Thursday's close of US$0.7074 or US$1=US$1.4136.
This marks a week of decline for the Canadian currency, losing 0.72 of a U.S. cent during that time.
Crude oil prices also took a hit, with West Texas Intermediate dropping to US$92.70 per barrel and Brent crude falling to US$104.66 per barrel as markets wait for news on U.S.-Iran talks to end their war.
