Loonie Tumbles to Lowest Close Since Early August Amid Crude Oil Slump
The Canadian dollar experienced its lowest close since early August, finishing at US$0.7110 or US$1=C$1.4064 on Tuesday.
This marks a decline from Monday's closing rate of US$0.7132 or US$1=US$1.4021.
Crude oil prices also took a hit, with West Texas Intermediate dropping to US$94.59 per barrel and Brent crude oil retreating to US$98.28 per barrel due to reports that the East-West pipeline in Saudi Arabia has partially resumed operations.
