Lower Production, Heating Demand Boost Natural Gas Futures
Natural Gas Intelligence reported that natural gas futures rose into midday Tuesday due to lower production in the Lower 48 and forecasts indicating the season's first meaningful heating demand.
The October New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) futures price reached $2.928/MMBtu as of 11:56 a.m. ET, up 9.2 cents day/day.
This increase comes after production fell to its lowest level since early August, according to the report.
