Russia's second-largest gasoline producer has been forced to suspend oil processing due to Ukrainian drone strikes. On August 26, Ukraine targeted the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod oblast. The attack damaged several processing units and general plant facilities.

The extent of the damage is still being assessed, but it's clear that the site will be offline for an unknown period while repairs are conducted. This is not the first time the refinery has been targeted - Ukrainian attacks on July 3 and June 24 also halted production at the facility.

The NORSI refinery processes around 17 million metric tons of crude oil annually, producing diesel fuel, jet fuel, lubricants, and other petroleum products. The site's shutdown is the latest disruption to Russia's energy infrastructure, which has been plagued by Ukrainian long-range strikes throughout the summer.
