Lumwana Copper Mine Sees Revenue Spike Amid Rising Prices
The Lumwana copper mine in Zambia has seen significant revenue growth thanks to rising copper prices. Between January and June 2026, the mine generated $852 million in revenue, a 32.1% increase from the same period in 2025.
This boost in earnings is attributed to the increasing price of copper, which has supported the site's financial performance. However, the exact share of this growth due to higher prices versus increased sales volumes remains unspecified.
Barrick Mining, the Canadian group operating the mine, plans an expansion project aimed at doubling production by 2028. This expansion is expected to enhance Lumwana's contribution to Zambia's national copper production.
