French President Emmanuel Macron has announced plans to deploy troops and defense systems to protect Saudi Arabia's Yanbu port from missile attacks. The strategic port is a key alternative route for Saudi oil exports, which have been disrupted by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis.

Crude oil prices have surged recently due to the disruption in oil exports through Yanbu. Macron stated that France will send military resources, including soldiers, radar systems, and defense systems, to protect the site without getting involved in any conflicts.

In addition to addressing the situation in Saudi Arabia, Macron also warned about possible Russian attacks on French soil. He dismissed a report by Spanish newspaper El Mundo that the US Central Intelligence Agency had warned European governments about potential drone attacks from the Mediterranean.
