Mahanagar Gas Hikes CNG Prices Amid Middle East Crisis
Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL) raised the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) by ₹2 per kg in Mumbai and other operating areas due to higher input gas costs caused by the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
The revised CNG price in and around Mumbai will be ₹88 per kg, according to MGL. This follows Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) hiking CNG prices in Delhi by ₹3.89 per kg to ₹86.98 per kg.
MGL sources a significant portion of gas required for the CNG segment through imported spot re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG), which has increased input costs for the company.
The price revision is intended to partially offset the higher cost of gas and ensure continued and sustainable supplies to customers, said MGL.
