Malaysia Palm Oil Production Surges, Bearish Outlook Ahead
Malaysia's palm oil production surged in early September, with a notable increase in fresh fruit bunch (FFB) yield and oil extraction rate (OER). According to data from SunSirs, FFB yield rose by 21.28% between September 1 and 15, while OER increased by 0.48%. This led to an overall production rise of 18.75% month-on-month.
The significant increase in production is expected to put downward pressure on spot palm oil prices and futures prices due to the bearish outlook. The supply side is showing signs of easing, which could have a lasting impact on the market.
