Malaysian Gold Price Holds Steady Amid Stable Global Markets

The gold price in Malaysia remained relatively stable on September 15, according to data compiled by FXStreet. The current price for gold is MYR 563.73 per gram, which is almost identical to the previous day's rate of MYR 563.21.

This stability in the gold market comes as no surprise given its safe-haven status and inverse correlation with the US Dollar and US Treasuries. As a widely-held store of value and medium of exchange, gold has played a significant role in human history and continues to be sought after by investors and central banks alike.

Central banks have been increasing their gold reserves in recent years, with 1,136 tonnes worth around $70 billion added to their reserves in 2022 alone. This is the highest yearly purchase since records began.
