The Malaysian government has announced plans to prioritize addressing cost-of-living issues in its upcoming 2027 Budget. Speaking to reporters, Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil emphasized that budget preparations will take into account external factors such as global crude oil price movements and the unsettled geopolitical situation.

Fahmi stated that ensuring cost-of-living issues are addressed more comprehensively is a key focus of the 2027 Budget. This includes considering crude oil prices, which serve as one of the benchmarks for budget planning.

In addition to addressing cost-of-living concerns, Fahmi highlighted the importance of attracting domestic and international investment to support the 13th Malaysia Plan. The government is looking into media sustainability issues and incentives to attract international events and film productions to Malaysia.
