Maurel & Prom Sees 78% Net Income Surge on Crude Price Boost
French oil producer Maurel & Prom reported a significant increase in its half-year net income, jumping 78% to $191 million. The surge was largely driven by higher crude prices, which boosted profitability.
The company's working-interest production averaged 37,890 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the first half of 2026, up just 1% from a year ago and 3% from the second half of 2025. Free cash flow rose 21% year-on-year to $77 million.
Maurel & Prom also resumed crude oil sales from Venezuela in June, after receiving a license from the U.S. to operate there in February. The company expects crude exports from Venezuela to normalize in the second half of 2026, which could aid future stability and growth.
