Mauritius Signs Energy MoU with India, Secures 5-Year Petroleum Supply Deal

India and Mauritius have signed a government-to-government Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on oil and gas cooperation, marking a significant milestone in their partnership.

The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration in various segments of the energy value chain, including petroleum and gas, biofuels, sustainability, and emerging energy areas. Indian Oil Corporation has also signed a five-year commercial agreement to supply petroleum products to Mauritius, including petrol, diesel, marine gas oil, and Aviation Turbine Fuel.

According to Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, the MoU reflects India's reliability and commitment as a trusted energy partner. The agreement is part of a broader architecture for country-to-country energy cooperation between India and Mauritius.
