MET Group and Shell Strengthen LNG Partnership with New US Supply Deal

MET Group and Shell have signed a new long-term agreement for US liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply, further strengthening their cooperation in LNG trading. The deal allows MET to access flexible US LNG supply over a multi-year period.

The agreement marks another milestone in the companies' growing strategic relationship. In July 2024, they signed a 10-year FOB (Free-On-Board) LNG purchase agreement, securing long-term access to US LNG and diversifying MET's supply strategy.

As demand grows for more diversified gas procurement strategies, access to US LNG becomes increasingly important for MET Group and its customers. LNG supplies linked to the US market can help broaden sourcing options while reducing exposure to volatility in European gas benchmarks.
