Metals Rise Across the Board, Led by Nickel's 1.55% Surge

Metal markets showed strong performance on August 4, with most base metals rising. SHFE copper rose 0.91%, while SHFE aluminum and tin increased by 1% and 0.81%, respectively. Nickel surged ahead, climbing 1.55%. However, zinc fell by 0.58%.

In other areas, lithium carbonate and polysilicon futures saw significant gains, increasing by 1.07% and 1.4%, respectively. Coking coal contracts rose 1.91%, while stainless steel climbed 2.06%. On the overseas market, LME metals also showed a positive trend.

The US dollar index rose 0.05% to 100.01. US manufacturing PMI data revealed strong demand and production growth, but interest rate cut expectations were offset by lower oil prices. The Fed is maintaining its stance on monetary policy, with market rate hike expectations largely unchanged.
