Michigan's gas prices are climbing rapidly, with a $4.21 per gallon average according to GasBuddy.

This is a 9.1 cent increase from just last week and $1.13 higher than the same time last year.

The record high for Michigan was set in 2022 at $5.21 per gallon, and it currently has the 20th highest gas prices in the US.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, notes that rebounding oil prices are driving up costs due to the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries.
