Middle East Allies Unite: Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia Sign Mutual Defense Pact
Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia have signed a mutual defense agreement, which stipulates that an armed attack on any of the three countries will be considered an attack against them all.
The deal was signed during a meeting in Saudi Arabia between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The agreement aims to strengthen collective deterrence against any act of aggression, according to a statement from Pakistan's foreign ministry.
The signing of the mutual defense agreement comes at a time when Saudi Arabia has been looking to diversify its defense partnerships due to ongoing attacks on its critical infrastructure and oil facilities.
