Middle East Tensions Drive Fuel Price Increases in Australia
NRMA Spokesman Warns of Potential Fuel Price Increases Amid Middle East Tensions
The Australian fuel prices continue to climb, with global oil prices rising due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. NRMA spokesman Peter Khoury has expressed concern that motorists could face further price increases if global oil prices remain elevated.
According to Khoury, the national average for regular unleaded has climbed to 219.6 cents a litre, up from 155.4 cents in July. Diesel prices have also increased sharply, reaching a national average of 268.4 cents a litre compared with 179.1 cents at the end of June.
Khoury urged motorists to shop around before filling up, warning that the price gap between service stations could be significant. He suggested using the My NRMA app or state and territory government fuel-price websites to compare prices in real time.
