MidOcean Energy Raises Over $4 Billion for Global LNG Growth Strategy
MidOcean Energy, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) company formed and managed by EIG, has concluded its 2026 equity capital raise, securing over $4 billion in commitments from new and existing investors.
The raise exceeded the company's original target of $2 billion, reflecting confidence in MidOcean's strategy, portfolio, team, and long-term growth outlook.
Among the new investors are strategic players such as the Private Department of Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan and sovereign-linked institutions like The Arab Energy Fund. Existing investors also significantly re-upped their commitments.
R. Blair Thomas, Chairman of MidOcean and Chief Executive Officer of EIG, said that this capital raise represents a major milestone for the company, supporting its strategy to build a global LNG platform.
