Midstream Energy Stocks Ride LNG Boom to Record Volumes
Midstream energy has become an attractive corner of the market for investors seeking mid-single-digit growth paired with above-market income. WTI crude oil has staged a sharp recovery, rising by 17% over the past month to $84.77 per barrel.
The expansion of U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) export capacity is also driving demand for pipeline operators. The Energy Information Administration forecasts LNG exports averaging 17 billion cubic feet per day in 2026 and 18.2 billion cubic feet per day in 2027.
Three energy dividend stocks stand out: Enterprise Products Partners, Energy Transfer, and Enbridge. All three have reported record volumes and are raising distributions.
Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) is a master limited partnership with a market cap of $82.1 billion. The company has paid a quarterly distribution of $0.56 per unit, annualizing to $2.24, since 2026.
In Q2 2026, Enterprise reported record operational distributable cash flow (DCF) of $2.3 billion, up 21% year over year, providing 1.9x coverage of the cash distribution. Adjusted EBITDA hit a record $2.83 billion, up 17% YoY.
Energy Transfer (ET) is another K-1-issuing MLP with units finishing at $20.94 in August, up 33.84% year to date. The company has raised its full-year 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance to $18.8 billion to $19.1 billion.
Enbridge (ENB) is the diversified pipeline heavyweight with a market cap of roughly $111.2 billion. Enbridge declared a quarterly dividend of C$0.97, payable September 1, 2026 to holders of record August 14.
The three companies offer growing distributions backed by fee-based cash flows and have visible project backlogs. Key catalysts into the fall include the Hugh Brinson Phase 1 full commercial in-service on September 1, 2026, EPD’s LPG export expansion coming online by year-end 2026, and Enbridge's plan to sanction C$10 billion to C$20 billion of new projects over 2026 to 2027.
