Midstream Growth Soars as Oil Futures Prices Climb Above $80
Midstream investors can expect sustained growth in oil futures prices to benefit their investments. The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures curve has risen significantly, with prices above $80 per barrel through mid-2027 and $70 through mid-2028.
This increase in oil futures prices creates a clear financial incentive for domestic drillers to expand production, benefiting midstream infrastructure. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), updated projections expect U.S. crude production to grow 1.8% in 2027 to a record 14.2 million barrels per day (MMBpd).
The geopolitical tensions and conflicts in the Middle East continue to drive up oil prices, with markets now expecting these pressures to persist until at least early next year. As a result, investors can look to midstream ETFs like AMLP and ENFR for potential growth.
