Mirae Asset Launches Hong Kong's First Copper Miners ETF
Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong) Limited has launched the first copper-focused ETF in Hong Kong, called the Global X Copper Miners ETF. The Fund tracks the Solactive Copper Miners Index, which selects up to 30 eligible securities ranked by total market capitalization from the universe of the Solactive GBS Global Markets All Cap USD Index.
The launch comes as copper demand is expected to surge due to the rise of AI and data centers. Dennis Fok, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer, ETF, at Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong) Limited, said that 'Global X has long been at the forefront of commodity-linked investment solutions.'
The Fund is listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong with an issue price of US$1 per share and a board lot size of 100 shares. It aims to provide investors with diversified access to global copper mining companies, which are poised to benefit from the critical mineral's supply-demand imbalance.
