MISC Share Price Surges as Company Secures Long-Term LNG Carrier Charter Contract

MISC Bhd's share price rose 1.75% on Monday after it secured a long-term charter contract for an LNG carrier from Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd.

The global leader in energy-related maritime solutions and services will charter a newbuild 18,700 cubic metres (cbm) LNG carrier under the deal.

MISC said the project would have a firm charter period of 10 years, with commencement expected in 2028. The company's subsidiary will provide the LNG shipping services to MLNG.

The share price climbed 14 sen to RM8.13 at 10:19 am on Monday, with 60,000 shares traded. This move comes after MISC announced a shipbuilding contract with Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co Ltd in July 2026 for the construction of the LNG carrier.
