Misleading Video Circulates Amid Houthi Attacks on Saudi Oil Facilities

A video circulating on social media appeared to show a fire at an Aramco facility in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, following a Houthi attack. However, Misbar's team at Al-Araby TV investigated and found that the footage predates the current escalation.

The original video was published in August by Indian media outlets and social media platforms, showing a fire at a power plant operated by Ma Chinamastika Cement and Steel in Hehal, Jharkhand state. The reports attributed the blaze to an explosion in one of the plant's turbines, which sparked a massive fire and killed three engineers.

The Houthi attacks on Saudi oil facilities in Yanbu were announced last Thursday, with the group launching missile and drone attacks against a 'sensitive target' in Riyadh. The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen intercepted two ballistic missiles and two drones launched by the group toward Saudi Arabia over the weekend.
