MNGL Boosts CNG Supply Capacity with Talegaon Unit Upgrade
Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) has completed an upgrade to its Talegaon unit, increasing the capacity to supply compressed natural gas (CNG) to filling stations. The enhancement was done in collaboration with GAIL and MNGL, scaling up the gas handling capacity from 75,000 SCMD to 7 lakh SCMD.
The pipeline looping work at the Talegaon unit has also been completed, allowing for the smooth supply of gas from the unit to the city's gas distribution network. This upgrade is part of MNGL's comprehensive and time-bound network augmentation programme aimed at enhancing gas supply capacity and improving network pressure.
CNG vehicle users in Pune have been facing challenges due to low-pressure refilling, with drivers spending up to an hour in queues at refilling points. Ananda Shinde, an autorickshaw driver from the Tadiwala Road area, expressed hope that MNGL's efforts would boost the supply.
