Montana Grain Prices Mixed as Wheat Futures Hold Firm
The Montana grain market experienced mixed results on September 25, 2026. The USDA AMS Livestock, Poultry and Grain Market News report showed mostly steady to lower cash prices for wheat, barley, and durum categories. US No. 1 dark northern spring wheat bids in the North Central region ranged from $6.2250 to $6.3050 per bushel at 13% protein, down 6.75 to 7.75 cents.
The Chicago Board of Trade reported that corn settled at 528.25 cents per bushel for December 2026 and soybeans closed at 1319.00 cents for November 2026. CBOT wheat settlements were 703.25 cents for December 2026, while Kansas City Board of Trade wheat settled between 762.00 cents for December 2026 and 787.00 cents for March 2028.
US No. 1 durum wheat bids were $6.5000 in the Northeast, $5.5000 in the Golden Triangle, and $5.5000 to $6.0000 at Great Falls, all unchanged in basis and price. US No. 2 feed barley in the Golden Triangle was bid at $3.6200, down 10.00 cents.
