Montana's Natural Gas Pipeline Gets $9 Million Upgrade Near Helena
Northwestern Energy is investing in its infrastructure by replacing an aging natural gas pipeline near Helena. The project aims to strengthen Montana's natural gas system, improve long-term reliability, and meet federal pipeline safety requirements.
The existing pipeline is approximately 40 years old and will be replaced with a new one. The $9 million upgrade will also restore the project area by adding back topsoil and seeding it once completed.
According to Brandy Powers, a spokesperson for Northwestern Energy, 'The investments we are making today... really benefits the entire state.' She added that the company inspects all of its natural gas infrastructure, making this an infrastructure investment project.
