Mozambique Audits LNG Megaprojects to Boost Revenues
The Mozambican National Petroleum Institute (INP) is seeking consultancy services to audit recoverable costs of LNG megaprojects in Areas 1 and 4 of the Rovuma Basin.
The institute aims to strengthen verification of expenses declared by concessionaires before revenues are shared with the State. The work will cover costs incurred and claimed as recoverable in Area 1 for the 2025 and 2026 financial years and in Area 4 for 2024, 2025, and 2026.
The country currently has around 180 trillion cubic feet (180 Tcf) of natural gas in situ, mainly concentrated in Areas 1 and 4. These resources are considered strategic for boosting economic growth, strengthening energy security, and promoting sustainable development.
