MP CNG Prices Hike Ahead of Raksha Bandhan
The price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) has increased in Madhya Pradesh ahead of Raksha Bandhan, a Hindu festival celebrated on August 11. In Bhopal, the rate has gone up by ₹1.50 to ₹97.50 per kg.
Think Gas, which supplies CNG in Bhopal, Rajgarh, and Shivpuri districts, is selling the fuel at this higher price. Avantika-GAIL, which supplies CNG in Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, and other districts, has also raised its rates.
In the last six months, CNG prices have increased by about ₹10 per kg. In June, the rate of CNG in the state was around ₹94.55, which reached ₹97.50 by the end of July.
The sale of CNG vehicles has increased significantly in Bhopal over the last three years, with sales rising by up to 50%. The main reason for this is the higher average mileage from CNG compared to petrol-diesel, as well as lower rates.
